The Face Behind the Brand: Olufunmilayo Owoade
Welcome! I'm Olufunmilayo Owoade, the founder of Light Up Online School — and the teacher behind the mission.
With years of experience teaching learners across elementary, high school, and even tertiary levels, I've come to a simple but powerful realization: many students don't struggle because they can't learn, but because no one has taken the time to teach them clearly, personally, and patiently.
Throughout my journey - from building online classrooms from scratch to becoming an assistant head of an online school - I've witnessed the unique challenges African children in the diaspora face in traditional learning settings: feeling unseen, unheard, and overwhelmed.
Light Up Online School was born to change that.
Our focus is one-on-one, distraction-free learning. We meet students right where they are — and help them rebuild confidence, skill, and academic strength at their own pace.
Beyond teaching, I'm also a part-time university lecturer, a fashion lover who enjoys designing headpieces, and a smoothie enthusiast on the side!
It's never too late to light up a child's path — and it would be my joy to walk that journey with you.
